Advanced cataract surgery

Laser assisted surgery is an advanced approach to the critical steps in cataract surgery. A specialized laser is used to perform these steps with greater precision than the traditional approach, which has the potential to result in improved vision after surgery.

The following video explains this in greater detail.

The Power of Synergy

I have over 20 years of experience performing cataract surgery and have incorporated advanced technology into my practice as it becomes available. Through my experience, I have found that the best outcomes are achieved by utilizing the appropriate technology that meets the patient's expectations and budget.

While Laser Assisted surgery provides greater precision, Advanced Biometry offers superior data, and Advanced IOLs provide improved optical performance, it is important to note that insurance only covers the basic surgery and basic implant. Patients who desire the benefits of these advanced technologies will need to consider the additional cost.

Advanced Biometry

ORA (Optiwave Refractive Analysis) is an advanced form of Biometry I use during surgery to help achieve the best possible outcome. It works like a GPS for eye surgery to guide us to a better outcome. The data gathered in the office differs from the eye's condition during surgery due to corneal incisions made to access the cataract. With real-time updates from ORA, I can reduce residual astigmatism and the technology also helps us to select the implant power for optimal vision results.
